A carpet is a textile floor masking sometimes consisting of an upper layer of pile connected to a backing. The pile was traditionally comprised of wool, however, because the twentieth century, synthetic fibers reminiscent of polypropylene, nylon or polyester are often used, as these fibers are inexpensive than wool.
